At the racecourse on Boxing Day 2010

I had spent the past 3 weeks with a visitor. Don't get me wrong, I love having company, but this company was of the motherly nagging kind.

So you can imagine my mixed feelings of relief and guilt to see her off at the airport. Relief for the nagging to stop and being free again. Guilt for feeling relieved, and for rushing to my first hash in nearly a month.

Apart from mismanagement, I was probably the most regular hasher on the peninsula. At a select few H3 kennels anyway. So I was happy to be back at my playground.

Hashing in brand new tekkies (running shoes) may be penalized (or rewarded) by filling them with beer, and drinking said beer out of them. At Southside (Southsiiide!) they tend to be more lenient. I would not have enjoyed drinking out of them, seeing as we ran right across the sand of a horse racecourse, and through thorns and leaves and God knows what else.

I was the only female runner on that hash. I ran with Dick Gobbler. A big black dog. Not very easy going up or down 70 degree slopes with a dog in hand. A dog that wants to be right in front. Corndog, BOA, The Who the F is Dave, Mister Blister, NrNr, and myself had a fun time climbing over (or crawling under) fences (including those made of barbed wire) and ducking under racecourse crash railings. What a lot of fun we had carrying Dick Gobbler over the fences!

The On-After was in Songtan, and it would have taken us just about 90 minutes to get there. We dropped Dick Gobbler off in Itaewon, then I took a nap with Dick Whisperer and Soju Sonata in A-Minor on the backseat of Turtle's rental car. I woke up an hour later, wondering why Turtle and Encyclopedia Lesbionica were talking so much in the front. I looked out the window and saw we had just passed Ichon Station. In the hour that I was asleep, we had gone in a complete circle. From Itaewon to Yeouido, where I was last awake, and back to Ichon. We arrived, after many SMSes from The Who, in Songtan about 3 or 4 hours after circle had finished.

On-On to my first hash in 2011!
